1st Grade

First grade is an exciting year at Cotton Creek Elementary. From learning the routines and how to be twenty first century learners in August to reading chapter books in May, we travel along in learning. Collaboration and communication are staples as we learn about science through the study of pebbles sand and silt in the fall, solids and liquids in the winter, and plants in the spring. From computation to algebraic thinking we spiral through the Everyday Math Program. In writing, as well as reading, we explore a variety of genres.

Responsible citizenship is learned through exploring personal finance, history, maps and globes, communities, family traditions and holidays. Come join our fabulous first grade journey!
