My name is Alizzy Gooding, and this is my fifth year as Assistant Principal at Cotton Creek Elementary. This is my 17th year as an educator and my 15th year with the Adams 12 Five Star School District. In my seventeen years, I have taught 6th & 8th grade Language Arts, been a teacher-librarian, an Instructional Coach at the middle school level with a focus on Literacy across contents, and am starting my 6th year in Administration. I attended the University of Colorado at Boulder for my Bachelor’s Degree in English Literature and Secondary Education. I also earned a Master’s Degree in Instructional Technology and Digital Literacy from the University of Colorado Denver. In 2015, I completed my Principal Educational Leadership program through the University of Denver’s Ritchie Program connected with Five Star Schools.
I am absolutely thrilled to be at Cotton Creek serving the students, staff, and community. I look forward to another school year full of building relationships, supporting student growth in their achievement, and showing your Cotton Creek Cougar how much I care! I really enjoying doing this job and making sure your students are safe and receiving top notch instruction.
My husband also works for Five Star Schools. We have a 2nd grader in the district, a child in local Pre-K, and a one year old! I enjoy spending time with my family, hiking, writing, going to see theatre at the DCPA complex, cooking, and traveling when I can. This past summer during COVID-19 orders to stay safe at home, I really enjoyed the simple pleasures of playing games, going on walks, and being with my little ones.
