Hello. I am Mrs. McVey, the Teacher Librarian. My career in education started in 1992 in Texas as a Spanish middle school teacher. I stayed in Texas until my husband
got a new job in Denver in 1999. My career in the Adams 12 school district started at Legacy
High School teaching Spanish level 2 and level 4. Having taught middle school
for so long, I was quite nervous moving “up” to high school; however, I found that I loved
teaching high school as much as I loved teaching middle school students.
In 2007 my career took a different path to the library world. I have always LOVED reading, so it was a natural transition for me. In 2007 I became the Teacher Librarian at Century Middle School. Then a year later, with budget cuts, I became the Teacher Librarian at Century Middle and Rocky Top Middle—splitting my time between the two schools. Now, I find myself here at the elementary schools! My career has spanned all three levels—high school, middle school, and now-- elementary school.
I am married to my wonderful husband, Jeff. We have three beautiful, spunky girls. Mia, Ava, and Abby. Needless to say, we have a busy household. We enjoy movies, playing outdoors, swimming, and dancing like crazy to pop music.
I look forward to working with your children…teaching them, reading to them, laughing with them, and helping them find the magic in stories.
