
A twenty-eight year teaching veteran of the public schools, Matt has taught elementary physical education in New York state for seven years and Colorado for twenty one years. He holds a masters degree in health education. Matt previously coached JV baseball during his first seven years of teaching. Currently he is the head boys cross country coach at Mountain Range HS and the distance coach for Track & Field at Mountain Range HS. He has served on numerous education committees including Colorado Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance, Colorado's professional PE organization.
Currently he is the Coordinator for District 12 Physical Education teachers. Matt's interests include running marathons (short runs now after completing eight 26.2's) and attending sporting events, especially pro baseball games at Coors Field. Matt followed his passion for running by forming a 35 member youth cross country team, Westminster Youth Road Runners Club (est. 2013) and competing in the CARA youth cross country league. Matt has been married for 24 years, and with his wife Diane has three daughters, all of which attended Cotton Creek elementary and attended Mountain Range HS playing multiple sports, including; cross country, gymnastics, swimming and track & field.
