Hello! I am so thrilled and honored to be a part of the Cotton Creek community as an ELD teacher. Prior to becoming a teacher, I pursued careers in creative writing and fashion design in New York, (although I am originally from Boulder). While in New York, I graduated with a Bachelor's in Liberal Arts from Eugene Lang College of the New School for Social Research, and an Associate's Degree in Women's Sportswear from the Fashion Institute of Technology. I returned to Boulder in 2006 with my son, Max, who is now eighteen. I began working as an instructional para-educator in a bilingual school in Boulder in 2007, where I fell in love with the culturally and linguistically diverse learners I worked with. The joy and passion that was ignited in me when serving these students inspired me to pursue my elementary licensure at the University of Colorado in Boulder. After earning my elementary licensure, I taught afterschool enrichment and intervention classes to elementary students, and ELD summer school in Boulder. I began working in Adams 12 as an ELD teacher at STEM Launch K-8 in 2013, and joined the ELD team at Cotton Creek Elementary in 2014. Additionally, I completed an EECD Master's Degree program (Educational Equity and Cultural-Linguistic Diversity) through the University of Colorado at Boulder's Bueno Center in the spring of 2019.
