Hi there! My name is Kirbi McGinness and I am so lucky to be a part of the Cotton Creek community! I was born and raised in Colorado and I graduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder where I studied Elementary Education and History. I recently earned my Masters in Curriculum and Instruction: Literacy Education from CU. My first year teaching I taught 1st grade and absolutely fell in love with Cotton Creek and its wonderful community! This will be my fifth year teaching 4th grade and I could not be more excited. For five summers throughout high school and college, I worked at a camp for children with disabilities in Lakewood called Camp Paha. These days, I spend a few weeks during the summer working up at Adam's Camp, a sleepaway camp for kids and adults with disabilities. It was at Camp Paha that I found my passion for early childhood education.
Outside of the classroom, I am a huge sports fan. My favorite teams are the New York Yankees and, of course, the CU Buffaloes. My absolute favorite sport to play is soccer and I have played since I was 4. I had the wonderful opportunity to play club soccer for the CU Women's Gold team throughout college where we placed 5th in the nation my senior year. A fun fact about me is that I can juggle a soccer ball 1,142 times in a row with just my feet! Go Buffs!
