I am excited to be working on the amazing Cotton Creek Elementary team! I have enjoyed 6 years here at Cotton Creek. Before that I was a Learning Specialist at the middle school level in the Adams 12 Five Star School District. Altogether, I have been a teacher for 15 years
I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Specific Learning Disabilities at Appalachian State University in North Carolina and have continued to participate in professional development over the years. Before coming back to teaching, I was a store designer for many years where I also taught adults about merchandising. Now, I work specifically with students who have Individual Education Plan (IEP) goals through Special Education, but I also support learning for all students! Last year, I completed my Master's of Education specializing in Literacy and Special Education.
Originally from Maryland, my husband and I moved to Colorado 24 years ago. We are both teachers in Adams 12 Five Star School District, so we are usually overwhelmingly busy during the school year between work and home. When I am not teaching, I am raising my six-year-old daughter and spending time with our smart and energetic pup, Luna. We enjoy cycling, hiking, rock climbing, and reading. I never go anywhere without a book (in hand or on my kindle).
