Hello! My name is Karla Springer. I am so excited to be teaching 5th grade again at Cotton Creek Elementary. I have lived in Colorado my whole life and I attended Adams 12 schools from elementary school to high school.
I have a bachelors degree from the University of Northern Colorado in psychology. I worked for the YMCA as a director for summer camp and the Before and After School program for five years. I also taught STEM programs through Broomfield 4-H at local camps and schools. Working with these students blossomed my passion for teaching and determination to make a greater influence on their lives. I returned to school to earn my teaching certificate from the University of Colorado at Boulder. I have a masters degree in Educational Psychology from the University of Northern Colorado. I am currently working on receiving a literacy certificate and hoping to finish this fall. As a fifth grade teacher at Cotton Creek Elementary, I am determined to help my students grow academically and socially to become intelligent, thoughtful individuals. I am excited to work with your student and help them discover the joys of learning.
My husband, Sam, and I celebrated our one year wedding anniversary this summer! We have two Bengal cats named Mya and Wyatt. I love spending time with my nieces and my family. I enjoy running races with my husband and cheering him on during his triathlons. I am obsessed with the Hunger Games and I enjoy sharing parodies with my students. I love reading and sharing my reading passion with my students. I love watching sports and I am a huge football fan. Go Broncos!
